In a document circulated in Diario Libre and online, the Central Electoral Board (JCE) dismisses each of the claims of fraud that opposition parties say could have affected the election results.
The document from the JCE plenary responds to the 1 June 2016 document presented by the presidential candidates Luis Abinader (PRM), Soraya Aquino (PUN), Elias Wessin Chavez (PQDC), Pelegrin Castillo (FNP), Guillermo Moreno (Al Pais) and Minou Tavarez Mirabal (APD) outlining what they say is evidence of electoral fraud that prevents them from acknowledging that the results presented for the general elections are valid.
The JCE plenary states that the evidence is contained in 83 voting certificates for the same number of voting stations. This involves 37,523 voters for 0.55% of which 18,882 were valid votes for 0.41% of the total of 19,939 votes cast for 0.42% at the presidential level.
