With the objective of improving the quality of life for Dominicans, the National Institute of Water and Sewers (INAPA), the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development and the Water and Sanitation Cooperation Fund have presented the National Sanitation Strategy (ENS). The components of the plan are water as a resource, drinking water, residual domestic water, as well as sewage water, rainwater, solid waste, mud and hygienic practices and special establishments. The ENS aims to provide access to potable water and improve sanitary conditions fulfilling the universal principles of access, efficiency, transparency, responsibility, continuity, quality and fair pricing.
