A free talk aimed at the general public, “Gastronomy and Journalism as Tools for Building a Country Brand” is being held on Tuesday, 21 June 2016 at the Barcelo Santo Domingo (former Lina) Hotel on 27 de Febrero and Maximo Gomez avenues. The speaker is Yanet Acosta, who directs The Foodie Studies magazine and is a professor of food journalism at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She is a media studies graduate of Columbia University in NYC.
Her talk will focus on how to write food criticism, and on ingredients that identify Dominican cooking.
Acosta will also be teaching a two-day workshop on food reviewing and food fiction from 22-23 June 2016. The cost is US$150 per course.
