The Dominican Republic’s Under-20 football team playing in Group 4 has advanced to the CFU tournament in Curacao as the runner up in the CONCACAF qualifying tournament played at the Estadio Panamericano in San Cristobal. The tournament was played with St. Kitts & Nevis, Jamaica, and Dominica.
The DR came second after top team St. Kitts & Nevis, which will also move on in the tournament. From there, the DR team will compete for a place in the CONCACAF stage of World Cup qualification. The tournament ended with St. Kitts & Nevis in first place, DR second, Jamaica third, and Dominica fourth.
St Kitts & Nevis topped the group with six points and a goal difference of plus three. The Dominican team also scored six points but placed second because they scored three fewer goals than St. Kitts & Nevis.
