The director of the Santo Domingo Water and Sewer Corporation (CAASD), Alejandro Montas, announced on Wednesday 22 June 2016 that more than one million people would benefit from the expansion of the Santo Domingo East aqueduct system.
The government is spending RD$1.4 billion on the expansion to improve water supplies for eastern Santo Domingo. Montas said that the project, which has a life expectancy of at least two decades, would be inaugurated at the end of August 2016.
