The president of the Dominican Medical Association (CMD), Waldo Ariel Suero, has completely rejected the proposal of the new director of the National Health Service, Dr. Nelson Rodriguez, to extend the working hours of doctors at public hospitals.
Dr. Suero said that Dr. Rodriguez had only just taken up his post when he had the nerve to make the announcement that has provoked concern among public hospital physicians.
He went on to invite Dr. Rodriguez to sit down and talk about the ways the conflicts in the health sector might be resolved.
