President Danilo Medina was in Roatan, Honduras on Thursday, 30 June 2016, for the summit of heads of government and state of the Central American Integration System. During the meeting, President Medina met with Central American Presidents Juan Carlos Varela (Panama), Salvador Sanchez Ceren (El Salvador), Jimmy Morales (Guatemala) and Juan Orlando Hernandez (Honduras).
Medina traveled with Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Jose Ramon Peralta, Minister of Foreign Relations, Andres Navarro and spokesman of the government, Roberto Rodriguez Marchena.
During the meeting President Danilo Medina proposed that the temporary presidency of SICA have last a year, instead of the six months term in effect now.
