Those reading a possible comeback to Major League Baseball of slugger David Ortiz are wrong. On Monday, the Boston Red Sox baseball legend cleared out doubts. “My playing time has already expired,” Ortiz would tell Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes.
He told his fans as proof that he hasn’t been undergoing his usual offseason preparations.
The 41-year old said: “Baseball is not something that you wake up today and you say, ‘I’ll play tomorrow,'” he noted. “Baseball is something that carries a lot of sacrifice, a lot of preparation, and there is a reason why we train the entire year to play it, practice every day, especially during the season, because it is a sport of consistency.”
