Last night’s games decided which team will match the Aguilas Cibaeñas in the finals of the Dominican Professional Winter Baseball Championship. The Tigres del Licey and the Gigantes del Cibao were tied. So when the Licey defeated the Escogido 3-1, and the Aguilas defeated the Gigantes 4-3, the Licey won the right to match the Aguilas in the playoffs.
The nine-game playoffs start on Thursday, 19 January 2017 at 8pm at the Estadio Cibao in Santiago. The series continues through Saturday, 28 January.
