The Ministry of Labor reminded all workers, including management personnel in the Dominican Republic, that Saturday, 21 January 2017, is the day Of Our Lady of High Grace (La Altagracia) the protector of the country and is not a movable feast day and therefore it is a work holiday applicable to all. The Ministry of Labor says that those companies that by their nature should remain open to the public will have to pay their workers overtime.
In the meantime, Thursday 26 January 2017, the Day of Founding Father Juan Pablo Duarte, will be a workday and the holiday will be transferred to Monday, 30 January.
