The police shot and killed during a clash the two men who are suspect of involvement in the deadly armed robbery of the cardiologist and retired General Jose Francisco de Jesus Minervino Toribio. Toribio was shot and killed while exercising near his apartment in Santo Domingo East, on 28 January 2017.
The deceased were identified as 22-year old Jhondely Santiago Peña Romero, aka John, Fuma and or Bolo, and the other only known as “Chiquito”, aged between 20 and 25.
It is not known where the shooting took place, but the police says both of the deceased were armed, and in police files with arrest records for previous homicides.
A third man, who was with “Bolo” and “Chiquito” sped away on a motorcycle, is being sought by the police.
