Dominican Olympian Luisito Pie came away with the silver medal at the US Open Taekwondo Championships that took place in Las Vegas, Nevada from 31 January to 3 February 2017.
Pie won the medal in the 63 kg category. The event took place at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino with the participation of 2,500 athletes.
Pie had won bronze in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2017 in the 58 kg category. He lost in the finals to the representative of Croatia. Yereth Cocco also won bronze competing in the youth category.
