La Vega, one-hour drive from Santo Domingo and one-hour and a half from Puerto Plata, invites to its annual carnival parades.
The main parade of the colorful carnival characters is on Sunday afternoons in February, after which there is live music with Omega, Don Miguelo, El Poeta Callejero, Jovanny Polanco, Los Kukitos, Kinito Mendez this Sunday, 12 February 2017.
