The government of Taiwan has donated US$222,886 to the Presidency program, Special Fund for the Agropecuarian Development (Feda) to promote the industry of bamboo in the Dominican Republic (Probambú).
In a ceremony attended by representatives of the public and private sector agencies and organizations, the Taiwan Ambassador, Valentino Tang, delivered the donation. He said the funds will be used to foster quality manufacturing using bamboo as a sustainable raw material. The new program will promote a species of bamboo that can be used for house construction.
