Members of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Police (DICRIM) reported having recovered the newborn that a woman disguised as a nurse allegedly abducted from the Presidente Estrella Ureña Maternity Hospital of the Dominican Social Security Institute (IDSS). The alleged perpetrators, 36-year old Mary Rosario Cruz, and her husband William Ferreras Reyes were arrested.
The baby was found at the couple’s home on Calle Pedro Infante corner Maria Teresa Mirabal in Pekin neighborhood, in southern Santiago.
Baby Gabriel Alfonso Richetti was found hours after a description of the woman was given by the 14-year old birth mother of the child and her sister, Agustina Reyes.
