The Centro de la Colonia China Inc. has inaugurated the Instituto Cultural Dominicano Chino located in Santo Domingo at Calle 27 Oeste No. 2 corner Calle Josefa Brea, Ensanche Luperon. Su King Fung, president of the center says the opening of the institute is focused on meeting the needs of the offspring of Chinese born in the Dominican Republic to learn the Chinese languages, customs and traditions.
A three-story building is currently under construction that will serve as place to teach Chinese languages, with an initial focus on Mandarin. In its first phase, the center has capacity to serve 160 students.
