The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) has announced that the scattered rains will continue for the first few days of Easter Week, due to the presence of a frontal system. The front has also brought temporary relief from hot temperatures in the country.
Onamet has issued an alert for possible flooding for those residents in low lying areas near to rivers and streams in the provinces of Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, San José de Ocoa, Azua, Santiago, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez, Puerto Plata, Espaillat and San Juan de la Maguana.
The rains are expected to continue in the northeast, southeast, central mountain area and the border region.
