Southwest has plans to fly nonstop daily from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Punta Cana (PUJ) beginning November 2017. The route is already served by JetBlue.
The Southwest nonstop service is still subject to requisite governmental approvals.
Southwest is the only major US airline to not charge for first and second checked pieces of luggage (size and weight limits apply). The airline also does not charge change fees, though fare differences might apply.
