Canadian extradited

On Saturday 27, May 27, Matthew Bruce Medina, a Canadian citizen, was extradited back to Canada from the Dominican Republic on drug related charges.

51-year old Matthew Bruce Medina (also known as Matthew Bruce Maynard), was the subject of multiple police investigations across Canada. In the fall of 2013, he was the suspect of a drug investigation by the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British-Columbia and subsequently fled Canada. In 2015, an RCMP drug investigation confirmed Medina to be living in the Dominican Republic and his arrest was sought with an Interpol Red Notice being issued in May 2016 at the request of the RCMP, for several drug related offences and multiple counts of Criminal Code of Canada offences. Medina was arrested in April 2016 in the Dominican Republic, where he was detained and subsequently deported.
