Venezuelan arrested for multimillion peso credit card fraud

Law enforcement authorities arrested Venezuelan Julio César Medina Navas who is accused of stealing RD$2,600,000 (more than US$55,300) for fraudulent cash retrievals and purchases with cloned credit cards. The arrest was made at an apartment located on the Malecon in Santo Domingo in a raid by the Police and state prosecutors.

The Police reported occupying 7,400 bolivars, 100 US$, RD$279,000 and clothing used in fraudulent cash retrievals from ATMs, a grey Honda Civic model 2010.
