National District Prosecutor, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, has advised that the murder case of Blas Peralta, president of the Truckers Association (Fenatrado), is not over. He was convicted and sentenced to 30 years in jail after being found guilty of the murder of the former rector of the UASD, Mateo Aquino Febrillet. His accomplices in the trial were given shorter sentences. Reynoso said that now the appeal process would begin.
Reynoso said that the death of Aquino Febrillet could have been avoided had Peralta been convicted in a murder case in Bonao, instead of being allowed to walk free.
