Partial solar eclipse to be seen

On Monday, 21 August 2017, there will be a total solar eclipse that will be able to be seen by around 300 million people, according to the United States Aerospace Agency (NASA).

The whole continent of the Americas will be able to see either the full or partial eclipse that will last between 2 and 3 hours. The total eclipse will be seen for 2 minutes and 40 seconds. When the eclipse is total, day will become night, the stars will be seen and the solar corona, the exterior atmosphere of the sun will become visible.

This astronomic event is being called the eclipse of the century and although it will not be seen as a full eclipse in the Dominican Republic it will be a partial eclipse that will begin at 14:04 pm and reach its maximum at take place at 15:29 in the afternoon, ending at 16:43pm.
