The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) approved direct roundtrip flights from Quito in Ecuador to Punta Cana. The flights will be operated by Aerolíneas Galápagos (Aerogal). The airline, also known as Avianca Ecuador, primarily flies to the United States and Colombia from the Galapagos Islands.
JAC also recently approved direct flights on Tam Linhas Aéreas on the route Brasilia-Punta Cana-Brasilia starting 18 January 2018. This connects the beach resort area with the capital of Brazil.
