Located in Comatillo, Bayaguana, adjacent to the Los Haitises National Park, Hostal Ecológico Loma Pan de Azúcar (Helpa) is open for business. The eco-lodge is about an hour and a half from Santo Domingo. The area where the lodge is located is surrounded by rivers and is perfect for day hiking and bird watching.
There are eight wooden cabanas with capacity for four persons each. For a big family, there is also a casa grande with five comfortable rooms, living room and kitchen.
The lodge offers wall climbing, billiards or just chilling by the pool in these intense days of summer heat.
Emilio Echaverria, project developer and Valeria Canto, the resident manager, explain the hotel also features mountain bike excursions and others such as the hike to the Salto Alto waterfall.
