Punta Cana airport to stay open

The International Airport in Punta Cana has announced that it will operate normally although checking the official bulletins issued by the Emergency Operations Center (COE) and the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) about the path of Hurricane Maria.

The airport administration announced they have put their contingency plan into operation and if they do have to suspend operations temporarily due to the weather they will proceed with the protocol designed by IDAC for these types of events.

The airport administration recommends passengers to check with their airlines prior to heading to the airport.
