
Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom) has launched free unlimited Wi-Fi service for travelers at their main airports in the Dominican Republic. These are the Las Américas International Airport (SDQ), La Isabela International Airport (JBQ) in Santo Domingo, the Puerto Plata Gregorio Luperón (POP) in Puerto Plata.
In a press release, the company explains that Vinci Airports, the global airport company to which Aerodom belongs, is offering the service in alliance with NomoSphere, a specialized operator for broadband and a leader in France with a wide presence across the world.
José del Castillo Saviñón, president of the Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel) welcomed the new service and says that it is tied to the Presidential Digital Republic Program that calls for the habilitating of 890 free Wi-Fi points nationwide.
Mónika Infante, director general of Aerodom, said that the initiative will give Internet access to around 15,000 passengers a day at the airports.
