Southwest Airlines has begun flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FLL) to Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ), opening up Punta Cana resort vacations for those seeking carefree weekends.
The airline is a low cost option for travelers seeking to connect through Fort Lauderdale to the extensive Southwest United States domestic network. The airline also provides for convenient connections for flights in dozens of cities across the Southwest domestic network without change fees and with free baggage.
The new flight is part of an expansion of the airline in the Caribbean, announced Steve Goldberg, Southwest’s senior vice president of operations and hospitality.
The new Punta Cana-Fort Lauderdale nonstop daily flights start as low as US$129 one-way. JetBlue also flies to FLL from PUJ nonstop.
