12th Dominican History Congress

Sponsored by the Academy of History, the 12th Dominican History Congress, “The Caribbean in the 17th Century. Economy, Politics and Society,” is taking place from 15-17 November 2017, at the Catholic University, PUCMM.

The congress is dedicated to Vilma Benzo de Ferrer, former director of the National History & Geography Museum. The event is organized by the Dominican Academy of History, the Museum of History and Geography and the Center for Caribbean Studies of the Pontifical Catholic University Mother and Teacher (PUCMM).

The event opens on Wednesday at 8pm with a keynote address by Herbert Klein of Columbia University and Stanford University on: “Was there a Crisis in the 17th Century in the Americas” at the Monsignor Agripino Núñez Collado Auditorium.
