
According to the National Meteorological Office (Onamet) there will be rain and storms across much of the country due to a low pressure system and a weather front. 14 provinces are now on green alert.
Rainfall will occur mainly in the provinces of Barahona, Pedernales, Elías Piña, San Juan, Montecristi, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, Valverde, Santiago, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez. In addition there could be rain in San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor and Monte Plata.
The Emergency Operations’ Center (COE) has said the following provinces are under green alert: Barahona, Espaillat, Duarte, especially Bajo Yuna, La Vega and María Trinidad Sánchez, Espaillat, San Cristóbal, Peravia, Samaná, Pedernales, Azua, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, Montecristi, and Santo Domingo.
Today, Thursday 16 Novemebr, 2017 the rains will become stronger with more electric storms especially in the border with Haiti.
