
President Danilo Medina was in Hato Mayor on Tuesday, 14 November 2017, for the formal delivery of the Primary Health Center in Villa Canto of Hato Mayor. The cost of constructing and equipping the center was RD$65,457,660. The medical center is expected to benefit 44,900 inhabitants.
The facility has an area of 755 square meters over two levels serviced with an elevator. There are consulting rooms for gynecology, pediatrics, psychology, obstetrics, dentistry and internal medicine, two physiotherapy areas, two laboratories, an x-ray room, and a pharmacy.
During his visit to Hato Mayor, the President also re-inaugurated the El Valle High School, where eight classrooms were remodeled and additional ten classrooms added to provide the extended school day to 530 students.
