Anti-Asset Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Rules issued

President Danilo Medina issued Decree 407-17 with the application of the Anti-Asset Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing rules. In the decree, President Medina highlights that terrorism, proliferation of mass destruction weapons and their financing attempts against life, the world order, the peaceful living of peoples, advances in international relations and the living in harmony of peoples.

The decree explains that Law 267-08 penalizes terrorism in the Dominican Republic. The ruling is a follow up of local and international commitments to prevent and combat laundering of assets derived from illicit activities.
