Tis the season to be merry: government bonus on 4 December

Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Jose Ramón Peralta, announced the government would begin payment of the Christmas bonus, or 13th wage, starting 4 December 2017. The government will be making payments for RD$14 billion. The cash injection is expected to stimulate the economy.

Peralta said the early payment this year will make it possible for families to plan their shopping with time and fully enjoy their Christmas holidays. He said retired government officers would be the first to get their bonuses, including retired military. Next to follow will be active military and police. Next all other government officers employed in the central and decentralized institutions.
