
The Commonwealth Roundtable and the Petroleum-Mining Chamber (Camipe) of the Dominican Republic are presenting a round table to promote the mining sector in the country. “The Future of Mining in the Dominican Republic” features panels with sector exports. The talks will take place on 5 December 2017, at the Salon Yarey of the Santo Domingo Sheraton from 8:30am to 1pm.
The event is organized by Fernando González Nicolás of the Commonwealth Roundtable and is sponsored by the British Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Chamber of Commerce, and Indian Chamber of Commerce as well as the Federation of Chambers of Commerce (Fedocamaras) and the Dominican Association of Exporters (Adoexpo).
The scheduled panels are:
“Importance of Mining in the Dominican Republic” with Jochi Vicente, general manager of MacroAnalit; Ernesto Selman, vice president of the Regional Center for Sustainable Economic Strategies (Crees): Alvaro Sousa Sevilla, president of Adoexpo and Felix Nova, senator for the Monseñor Nouel (Bonao) province.
“Conditions to Attract Investors in the Mining Sector in the Dominican Republic,” with Ricardo Monte Alto, chief of mining and metals for the Americas of Wood Mackenzie consulting firm, and Luis Rafael Pellerano, of the law firm Pellerano y Herrera.
“International Mining: Situation and Perspectives for International Financing” with Guillermo Villanueva, representatives of the International Finance Corporation, IFC.
