The Customs’ Agency (DGA) has announced that from Friday, 1 December 2017, the “Christmas Thank You Program” begins so that Dominicans living overseas can bring in articles duty free up to a value of US$1,500 for their relatives and friends living in the Dominican Republic.
The customs exemption program will last until 7 January 2018, and is only applicable to those Dominicans who have been out of the country without returning for more than six months.
The measure is included in Law 9-96 of 9 September 1996.
