With Decree 427-17, President Danilo Medina appointed John Guiliani Valenzuela as the country’s new ambassador in Israel. He is a former Central Electoral Board and Superior Electoral Court judge. News commentators speculated the appointment was made to reward the former government officer for his strong support to the ruling political party.
