Migration lawyer Anibel González Ureña, who was slashed and stabbed by her former spouse, Yasmil Oscar Fernández (Ray) in San Pedro de Macorís is in stable condition and recovering at the Plaza de la Salud Hospital in Santo Domingo where she was taken after first care in San Pedro. Dashira Martínez, spokesperson for the hospital, said that the woman suffered several injuries on her left hand and left side of her torax.
González’s father, Felix González said Fernandez attacked his daughter in front of their two daughters in her apartment in Barrio Hazim on Saturday, 2 December 2017.
Fernández was arrested and is being interrogated by the Police in San Pedro de Macoris.
Prosecutors at the courthouse in San Pedro de Macoris said they would be charging Fernandez with attempted murder. Fernandez fled the scene of the attack, but later turned himself in to the Southeastern Regional Department of the Police.
