The ruling PLD party candidate, Miguel Surun Hernandez was re-elected as president of the Dominican Lawyers Association (CARD). Surun received 9,703 votes, or 50.98% of the votes. He will preside the organization from 2018 to 2020.
He defeated Enrique Garcia (7,868 votes) with 41.34% who ran for the opposition party, PRM.
