The Police reported that 22-year old Alexander Hernandez Familia (Alex) has confessed to the murder of his girlfriend 20-year old Steisy Elizabeth Cordero Cruz. Her body was found in scrubland in Los Alcarrizos. She had last been seen by her family last night before leaving home with a friend. During the evening, she published photos on Facebook of herself in a discotheque, but never returned home.
A taxi driver identified as Samuel is also identified as an accomplice after discarding the body at Km 14 of the Duarte Highway. Hernandez said he paid RD$10,000 to the taxi driver to dispose of the body.
