Administrative Minister of the Presidency Jose Ramon Peralta and Minister of the Presidency Gustavo Montalvo together announced on 20 December 2017, in an event at the Luis Manuel Morillo King public hospital in La Vega, the start of the offering of 911 emergency services to La Vega and Moca (Espaillat province).
In addition, the service has been extended to new communities in Santiago — Licey al Medio, Tamboril, Puñal and Villa González. In Puerto Plata, the community of Altamira has been added to the program.
Next to receive the services are Bonao, San Pedro de Macoris, La Romana, Villa Altagracia. Gustavo Montalvo said that already 58% of the Dominican urban areas are covered.
