
Minister of Environment Francisco Dominguez Brito has confirmed that in Cap Cana in the southern Punta Cana area, developers were granted permits for 17 high -rise towers of more than 20 floors on 19 December 2017, as reported in Diario Libre. These received tax free incentives authorized by Confotur. Fifteen of the companies belong to Cap Cana, S.A. The announcement follows a recent change by the Ministry of Tourism in the land use area for the Punta Cana area. The change has been objected by the National Hotel & Tourism Association (Asonahores).
