Smart Cities to discuss transport planning in Dominican cities

The Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC) and the University of Twente in the Netherlands are hosting from 18 to 19 January 2018 presentations and discussions on productivity and transport in Santo Domingo. During the event, ICT-related innovations will be presented that can positively impact mobility in cities. The symposium aims to contribute to the local debate on transport system planning and urban development according to the needs and activities undertaken by citizens of the modern on move society.

The sessions will be held at the INTEC campus at Av. Los Próceres in Santo Domingo.

The focus will be on the topics:
Major roads, social exclusion and accessibility analysis for scenarios of transport infrastructure.
Public transport, value of time and multimodality of transport networks, urban living labs and new urban developments in the context of developing countries.
Traffic safety and the role of infrastructure management.
