Visiting officers of the French energy provider, Total, met President Danilo Medina at the Presidential Palace to inform him of the company’s intent to install their sales and services regional operations center for the Americas and Caribbean in Santo Domingo. Total is the world’s 4th-ranked international oil and gas company and a major player in low-carbon energy solutions. The company is an important solar energy producer with the brands SunPower and Total Solar.
Total recently purchased dozens of Shell fueling stations throughout the country and rebranded them. “We arrived to the Dominican Republic in January 2016 with the purchase of 70% of the V Energy corporation, said Philippe Jaurrey, CEO and general manager of V Energy, as reported in a Presidency press release. He said the company has invested RD$7 billion and there are plans to continue investing significantly more.

Hervé Allibert, senior vice president senior de Total Américas and Demetrio Almonte, marketing and institutional relations director for Total and the director of the Center for Exports and Investments of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD) Luis Henry Molina.
