Dominican architect turned writer, Manuel Salvador (Doy) Gautier, was awarded the National Literature Award, sponsored by the Corripio Foundation and the Ministry of Culture. The award, which comes with a RD$2 million cash prize, will be granted in a ceremony on 20 February 2017 at the main hall of the National Theater.
Gautier published the novels “Tiempo de heroes,” “El atrevimiento,” “Pormenores del exilio, “La convergencia” and “Monte adentro.” Monte adentro won the Manuel de Jesús Galván award granted by the Ministry of Education in 1993.
