Today the Aguilas Cibaeñas team has a chance to break the losing streak of the Dominican teams in Caribbean Series that has not won a series since the Leones del Escogido did so in 2012. On Wednesday, 7 February 2018, the Dominican baseball players defeated Cuba 7-4, and Puerto Rico defeated Mexico 6-5 in the semi-finals. The final match is scheduled for Thursday, 8 February at the Guadalajara, Mexico ball park.
