The Puntacana, Selman, Rizek and Read groups have announced the opening of the Beach Club and the start of the construction of the “Playa de Puntarena Hotel and Condominiums” in los Corbanitos, Baní.
President Medina attended the opening of the Club de Playa Bahía Flamencos Punta Arena at the site of the Los Corbanitos Beach development in southern Peravia province. This is a US$195 million investment to be unfolded over a seven-year period. The residential and hotel development has two million square meters with lots for hotels and residences on the beach front for the building of villas, luxury apartments, a recreation area, bars and restaurants, a marina and others. Puntarena, located in the Sabana Buey municipality, has five kilometers of beachfront and is 20 minutes from the city of Baní and an hour drive from Santo Domingo.
During the opening, leading investor Frank Rainieri of the Puntacana Group explained that the Flamenco Bay Beach Club would accommodate visitors to the project as they come to enjoy the beach and sports facilities. Rainieri announced the start of the construction of a first 94-room hotel and two beachfront condominiums. He said that the condo-hotel would have 200 apartments in seven buildings of four floors each for a total of 128 units of two and three bedrooms with 139 and 181 square meters of living space. All the units will have a beachfront view to the Las Calderas Bay.
The overall project as 15.5 million square meters of which six million will be developed and a 9.5 million reserve.
