Juander Santos placed first in the 400 meters run at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational. He clocked in at 46.52 and qualified to participate in the IAAF World Indoor Championships to take place in Birmingham, UK from 1-4 March 2018. He also placed third in the 200 meters run with a personal best of 21.20.
Juander Santos is the younger brother of Luguelin Santos, the Dominican Republic silver medallist in the 400 meters run in the London 2012 Olympic Games.
