Members of the Dominican Democratic Party were demonstrating yesterday morning, Tuesday 27 February 2018, in front of the residence of President Danilo Medina, asking him to run for reelection for the presidential term 2020 to 2024.
They were holding placards saying from where in the country they came from and said that he was doing a good job and no one could do it better, highlighting his surprise visits and important changes to education, transport and several other projects which benefitted the poorest members of Dominican society.
The 2015 Constitution that allowed for the re-election of President Danilo Medina in 2016 bans his running in the 2020 general election.
