Based on advance travel bookings, AAA Travel’s survey on US travelers says the top five most likely international destinations for families in summer 2018 will be Cancun, Mexico; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Rome, Italy and Dublin, Ireland.
AAA Travel’s survey says that more millennials are taking family vacations than their elders. The survey found 44 percent of millennials (ages 24-38) were planning a family getaway – more than members of Generation X, at 40 percent, or baby boomers, at 32 percent. Generation X is age group between 39 and 53 years, while boomers are 54 to 72 years old.
Interestingly, more Americans are getting their passports. The survey found that 9% more or 35% of all vacationing families have plans for their vacations compared to 2016.
