
35-year old Brice Garnett went from being 177th on the PGA Tour in 2016 to winning his first PGA Tour win in 2018 at the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship. There were 132 golfers competing in the PGA Tour at Corales Golf Course.
Garnett had been a two-time winner on the Web.com Tour before landing his 2018 Punta Cana victory. He outplayed Keith Mitchell winning with a four-stroke victory under unusual windy and rainy conditions. Corales Golf Course runs alongside the Caribbean Sea.
Garnett pocketed US$550,000 in cash as part of the FedEx Cup earnings.
During the tournament, Dominican Julio Santos made history as he got to the second round of 81 players, becoming the first Dominican golfer to do so.
