Officers of the Ministry of Environment and its military division (SENPA) dismantled over the Labor Day weekend four ovens used to illegally manufacture charcoal in the communities of La Piedra del Toro de Guerra and Tierra Alta in Boca Chica municipality. The military seized 31 bags of charcoal. The manufacturers of the charcoal quickly fled to avoid capture. The operations were carried out by the recently appointed director of the provincial office of the Ministry of Environment in the Santo Domingo Province, Francisco Portes Bautista.
